About MLIS

Martin Luther International Seminary was established by the Evangelical Lutheran Conference and Ministerium of North America (ELCM) to provide a European style seminary education for men and women who feel God's call to the pastorate. We intentionally serve the need for theological education in the international contexts as part of the global mission for worldwide proclamation of God's Law and Gospel. We also serve our pastoral candidates in a North American context being the official seminary of the ELCM. Additionally, we prepare lay leaders for service in congregations and institutions

We are boldly Confessional Lutheran and decidedly centrist. We exist for the training and formation of those servants who shall rightly divide Law and Gospel, proclaim God's Word, and celebrate His Sacraments.
